So I went to watch New Moon, and I remember back in the day when I was all 'THIS IS THE BEST ROMANTIC SERIES EVER'. Sometimes I really wish I had a TARDIS at hand so I could go slap myself.
...
But then sometimes I wish I had the Doctor at hand because...well come on.

In any case, the plan was to go and pee my pants off, and though my pants were in place and quite dry after two hours of gold-hue camera filter, I think I accomplished what I set out to do.

Spoiler free, I can say that Taylor Lautner is like a nice seed of edible vegetation buried under a mud cake of bland and frankly horrible actors. So here's hoping he gets a role in something with a decent cast sometime soon. Oh and Micheal Sheen. Micheal Sheen is amazing because he is amazing. I've yet to figure out what exactly he was doing getting involved in this movie but my guess is he was bored and it payed well.

But yes, there were the Squee moments I couldn't help because... well because I'm still 16. The eye roll moments, and lots and lots of cracking up at bad lines and unfortunate lines and emo-kids-are-emo moments.

Over all, very very fun night with jesspirata (whom I'd like to welcome to LJ) and two friends with their respective twelve year old sisters (because yes, we bring our own twelve year old's to the party!) and a cute-boy who was cute and laughed along with me at all the unfortunately phrased lines.

Fic-wise. Everything I write sounds horrible to me lately. It's probably not as bad as I think, it's probably just a funk or anxiety over the FoE. But yeah... it sucks.

I'm also going to make more random posts, cause random posts are fun!

So basically I've been so caught up in the 'Must Produce Readable Fic' mode that I forgot I could just BLOG in my LJ.

I remember when Halloween used to be about candy and watching Disney Channel Halloween specials. This year Halloween's been about having an excuse to wear tights and a bodice that have been gathering dust in my costume box and playing Wii with five guys while trying to come up with a plot for NaNo which starts in like 41 minutes. Ooooh how things change :)

So while we wait for the FoE to be ready (that sounds odd coming from the author, I know) how about I just ramble about what's up with me, yeah? Sounds good to me too.

* School...is school. Nothing new, nothing exciting, I'm doing fine.

*Drama Club! Can I act? I don't know...honest. So I'm going to go up for auditions in two weeks with a couple of monologues to find out. I figure I don't lose anything if I can't act and do lose quite a bit if I can and don't try because I'm scared.

*Mexico! Yes yes yes, I get to go for Christmas and that makes me a happy camper! Two weeks of seeing people I haven't seen in months, getting to be with daddy (it has it's highs and lows), spending time with the Uncle (squee!), and being FREE of virtually ALL responsibility [you know...except that of my personal well-being ;)]. Can't wait!

*Cannot decide what I want to be for Halloween. I'm leaning towards something with one of those fluffed up short skirts because they just look adorable...but what?

*Bringing it back to the FoE I'm crazy excited! I'm going to go ahead and get my hopes all wildly high and say that I think at least FIVE WHOLE HUMAN BEINGS will read it, and that makes me giddy. I'm getting a banner from amyxaphania that I'm just bouncing up and down about, can't wait to see it! Aaaah! I hope all FIVE of you really enjoy the fic, honestly.

2. Alright, on to much lighter news. Happy news. Really really excited news. IT'S HALF WAY THROUGH THE QUARTER AND I STILL HAVE STRAIGHT A's! (except ...you know...that B in math) It's not been easy but it feels FREAKING GREAT!

3. Also, after I get a beta of epicness back from plaid_slytherin I'll have officially reached the half way point of the Fic of Epicness! (*cough*part1*cough*). SO YEY FOR THAT TOO!

4. I'll also be changing my LJ layout every 15 seconds until I find something I deem good enough for fic reading because the current one is cute and all but *I* wouldn't like to read lengthy fic on it and I don't expect other people to either.

So... I'm uhh... freaking out. You know, nothing strange for a high school Junior right? But it's...getting to me. Like, I've gone into 'I can't see the bigger picture anymore' mode; which is bad because I'm all about the big picture.
All I want is to be happy; I don’t think I should have to be jumping fences for that. I should be able to find that happiness within me. Where the fuck is it?

( Extreme angst of the teenage variety... )

The worst thing is knowing that other people are going through actual problems and that this angst is one of the most common things for people my age and not having that knowledge help me in the least.

So general update. Fic of Epicness, doing very well indeed, but it's going to be a while yet. Originally the FoE was going out with the tw_bigbang BUT....drafts for that are due the 28th and though I might be close to done I definitely won't be REALLY DONE. So I'll have to pass on that and... just pray people stumble upon the fic? At least I have a pair of amazing, faithful, idol/cheerleaders.

Speaking of which, plaid_slytherin , ladychi , and I had a Drabble Night last night. I cannot be persuaded to post what I came up with because... hehe... I don't like it.  But the ladies did have some amazing little (and not so little) drabbles to share, so it was great fun.

Now unto the sleep-inducing school stuff.

I have *counts* THREE projects to work on next week! Yey...
There's my U.S. History project on whom I assume were very important people during the Civil War. I have a great appreciation for history, I understand why we need to learn history, but I so don't agree with my teacher on using the role reversal method (in which sets of students teach each lesson) with this particular subject. I mean History isn't something you can do that with in my opinion, so I'm worried and just about ready to treat this as an independent-study deal. I trust my friends with lots of things but not with getting me to pass my AS levels.

Then I have my Spanish project which is cake, but it's umm... time consuming cake. And finally the one I'm actually looking forward to, a quick study and data collection project for Psychology. There's a project I can see some sense in. You can only explain psychological research some more until you just have to get out and try it yourself.

Ok, now back to work on the Fic of Epicness!

So I totally snagged this from greatalexanders . I never answer these Writer's Block things. So at 77 plays my Most-Played song is Daylight by Matt and Kim. SO not surprised. I listen to it practically every morning. It's just a wonderful wake up song, it helps me start the day off happy and bouncy and excited. Give it a listen.

Now I've been told that this wasn't truly Old!Who. This was,  to use kyrina 's words, "like the ugly middle child" of Who.

So what happened was I was talking to ladychi and I was all 'I feel like a bad fan! I haven't watched Old!Who' and so we made a date to watch the 8th Doctor TV movie. Now 'TV movie' should have been a big red flag, but then again, so should have the big (1996) beside the title.

So ladychi  , plaid_slytherin, kyrina and I sit to watch this, yes? There was so much BAD in this bad movie I expected Steven Seagal to come crashing through a window. There was so much bad I need bullet points for the bad:

* The TARDIS looked like my Tia Nina's living room, you know the one you can't touch because everything has been there since your 86 year old great aunt's parents were alive? And everything is red and disintegrating?

*Three words : Choreographed gang attack.

*The Doctor is dazed and confused in the way only actors in an American '90s made for TV movie can be... in other words completely and for the majority of the movie.

*Of the plot I can only recall alarm clocks, a giant armadillo, and plaid_slytherin 's birthday. Which should say something.

*And lastly the acid spit and leather. The Master, who I would have a hard time warming up to in any case seeing as he ... well... ISN'T JOHN SIMM. But not only is this gentleman NOT JOHN SIMM, he is an American-Terminator-in-a-Matrix-Coat, and he SPITS ACID.

So my wild first week of school left me no time to work on the Fic of Epicness and now I'm settling in to write. Now I finished a part of Chapter 2 last night and may I just say, this thing has a mind of it's own. I mean I had to have a stern talking to with Rose because she went a little bit bad!fic on me. But all's well now....well...

Thing is I have renewed my excitement for the fic. How? I have no idea where it's going , I know what happens next but no idea how this is going to end. I'm kind of along for the ride and I love it.

Here's hoping Rose doesn't aggravate me again!

So I get up at 5:45am , freakishly upbeat as I am at freakish hours like that. So I get ready, with my pretty supplies and wait for the bus. And I'm smiling the whole time, and I'm just giddy. And then I get to school.

And it wasn't really BAD...if I think about it. It was more like one anti-climatic moment after the other after first period.

So I'll rant about first period.

The teacher is very very cool, like, the kind of person I want to talk about books with. She's all for creative writing and literature analysis. SO I'M HAPPY! And we're going to read Equus! Oh oh and Oscar Wilde!
